Tree-houses, Birding -
Scattered throughout the woods, up to 20 feet in the air, accessed
by ladder or stairs, open platforms or completely enclosed, these
are great quiet retreats or wildlife observation posts.
-
Star-gazing -
If you live in or near a city, it's a treat on a dark country night
to see the sky! A lawn swing, a deck, a porch or a chair at the
fire-pit can be your observation post.

Pasture Tour or Hayride
- These can be arranged in advance or, often, on the spot. $5 per

-
Birding
- The Maple River flats nearby are a prime location for many water
birds.
-
Golf
- Upscale or country, there are many area choices. A nice, very

Chisolm House
This classic tenant or
"hired man's" house from the late 19th century is open to
the general public as well as Bon Accord Bed and Breakfast guests.
Antiques and rural items come from area estate sales as well as the
Allen's attic. Items made from barnwood salvaged at the farm are a
specialty. They include bird houses, garden benches, picture frames
and storage crates.
Hunting
Our deer hunting program is
designed to maintain a healthy deer herd and produce some good racks for
a limited number of hunters. Most of our hunters return year after year
but we always welcome a few newcomers. 20 blinds are scattered on 1200
acres of woods, pasture and cropland. We do not fill them all; when our
beds are full we are full!
Opening Day of rifle (we are
in the first tier of rifle counties) requires a total season
commitment of seven days. Return hunters have preference; this fills
early.
Rates include sleeping accommodations
and three great meals. Rifle season is $120 per day. A couple or father/son
sharing a room costs $180 or, in the case of a non-hunting spouse,
$160.
New Bow Hunters get a 20%
discount on a weekday hunt.
Turkeys can be hunted during
seasons. We seem to have quite a few and permits on private land in
our region are quite numerous.

Better Beef
We raise and sell "Bon
Accord Better Beef" by the half.
No hormones, antibiotics or
growth stimulants used!
Calves are born and raised on
our pastures and a select few are fed to perfection in our feedlot. You
can visit either location. Locally processed and aged in a cooling room
(avoiding electrical stimulation, radiation, injection of other "modern"
tenderization processes.) Cut to your order and frozen in the size
packages you prefer.
Buy it because it tastes
better! Most of our sales are repeat business or to people who have
eaten our beef. If you're a potential customer, ask for a sample one
pound pack of burger when you're a guest at Bon Accord. Considerable
savings over grocery prices. Current price $1.40 a pound plus
processing (add 25-35 cents.)
Ask for our literature,
"Better Beef by the Half."
